10m ‘White Eagle’ to work the North Sea
Cheetah Marine have worked closely with professional bass fisherman Chris van Raak to build a bespoke Cheetah for extended fishing trips in the North Sea. Chris required a fast boat with a high carrying capacity and large fuel tanks to fish the wrecks on 150 miles round trips.
The result is 10m 'White Eagle' powered by twin marine diesel 250hp V8 engines and Centa drive shaft driving Mercruiser Bravo II Stern Drives. The fit out includes a 2m x 3m sized wheelhouse which offers overnight facilities for four without compromising on the essential 12m2 fishing deck. The aft deck features a large fish storage compartment to accommodate eight iced down fish boxes. The forward section is designed for live bait storage in two separate wells with a constant flow pump. Forward, the foredeck rails have been extended by 1m to enable an overlap from the wheelhouse roof rails when accessing the bow along the sidedecks.
Cheetah Marine was first approached through Netherlands Agent Jan de Jonghe who is based in Belgium and sold five Cheetahs for similar professional fishing applications over the last few years. Jan had spoke at lengths to Chris and after visiting the Cheetah factory on numerous occasions and sea trialling the different hulls decided on a 10m Cheetah.
The commercial market is very different in The Netherlands to the UK. The fisherman need to have the ability to cover very long distances at high speeds in rough weather.

A similar 10m Cheetah was delivered to Baltic Germany earlier this year, also featuring the Bravo II stern drives to Fisherman and hotelier.
I am now able to arrive at the mark in one hour rather than the two it took my old boat. Now I can fish for an hour longer and still be home an hour earlier = win - win
