7.9m Silverfish to work from the Dart
[Posted : 27 Jan 2012]Commercial fisherman Justin Weeks has just taken delivery of his new 7.9m Cheetah. Justin who had seen other Cheetahs running out of the River Dart was impressed by the apparent effortless of the hulls in the water and after fishing from a succession of small boats decided to upgrade to a Cheetah Catamaran.
Unlike most Cheetahs which leave the workshop in a standard white or golden yellow, Justin opted for a full black hull and wheelhouse, a tactical decision on account that Justin fishes for cuttlefish. From his base at Noss in Dartmouth he also line fishes for bass and nets throughout the winter.
The 7.9m left the workshop as a Stage B and has been fitted with a standard wheelhouse giving maximum deck space. Justin is planning 50-60 mile round trips once he has completed the fit out which will include twin Yamaha 115hp outboards.
