2011 Round Up

Before we say goodbye to 2011, a quick count up reveals:
22 Cheetahs were built and delivered in 2011

  • Cheetah's travelled as far afield as Sierra Leone in West Africa, the German - Polish Border in the Baltic and extreme north Shetland Islands.
  • Interesting customers with equally exciting applications included: Geoff Holt’s Wetwheels a 9m Cheetah designed to be driven by wheelchair operators, Rupert Soame’s 11.2m Carnach for accessing his remote estate in the highlands of Scotland and twin water taxi’s for transporting passengers and supplies in Sierra Leone.
  • Cheetah Catamarans made appearances in many UK TV programmes in 2011. Ade Edmondsen crewed for John Davies aboard 9m ‘Richard William’ with a dramatic surf up the beach as they landed at Cromer. Jamie Oliver went fishing for scallops and razors aboard 9.95m Pride n Joy from Campletown. Not to mention Geoff Blake’s appearance on The Hairy Bikers ‘Best of British’ which will be repeated this spring.
  • Cheetah Marine have worked closely with Honda UK on photoshoots for the new European brochure. Also 10m Goldfish featured in a mini documentary following the story of Skipper Ben Hersey as he heads out into the night.
  • Sean and Lucy had a superb year for sea deliveries, both short and long haul amounting to some 2000 sea miles. Amongst these included 9m Carmen which was delivered to the Polish Port of Swinoujscie, 11.2m Carnach delivered via Ireland to remote west Scotland and 11.2m Cheetah which was delivered to Amsterdam for loading and further shipment to Africa.
  • 13 of the 22 Cheetahs are involved in some aspect of fishing activity, from commercial potting and netting to angling and diving.

With the nationwide celebrations of our abundant and diverse seafood we love that Cheetah Catamarans keep our fishermen safe whilst working and landing catch from shores in the UK.
