Cheetah Marine currently occupies 1600 square meters of undercover workshop space at various sites on the south of the Isle of Wight. Additional property has been purchased and built to satisfy the growing demand for space and facilities as required.
The smaller 6m series is still moulded at Carrigdene Farm where the original plywood Cheetah was designed and constructed. Moulding of the larger catamarans takes place at a number of units on Ventnor Industrial Estate.
March 2009 saw the completion of Cheetah Marine’s new purpose built fit out workshops. Located on Ventnor Seafront next to Ventnor Haven, the additional space is crucial in maintaining an efficient build programme from start of construction through to fit out launch and seatrials. Once the moulding stage has been completed, the base boat is transported to the new facility.
The 600m2 building was designed to create the perfect environment for bespoke fitting out. Each new Cheetah can be fully tested and seatrialled before delivery with the added advantage of demonstrations from Ventnor Haven straight out into the surf where Sean originally fished.
Personal involvement by the Strevens family remains key in sustaining both quality and design. As our Cheetahs owners say ‘we can no longer take days off when the weather is rough!’
